you to a student-oriented event:
Different perspectives in I/O consulting
Panelists:
Dr. Jane Bryan, Dr. Ron Halverson, and Mr. Mike Monar
Moderated by:
Dr. Karen Slora
This student-oriented program will have a panel of I/O
psychologists who work in various roles as internal and external
consultants discussing their perspectives in I/O consulting. The
panelists will focus on the unique opportunities and challenges they
faced in their work settings. The moderator will raise questions that
are of particular interests to students who want a glimpse into the
different consulting worlds.
Panelist Bios:
Dr. Jane Bryan
Dr. Jane Bryan works at W.W. Grainger where she manages OD training
programs across various departments. She was previously at Hewitt
Assoc., where she managed the implementation of a global software
project for e-based training. Dr. Bryan has also been a Visiting
Professor at Auburn University (Alabama). She earned her PhD in I/O
Psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology (1991).
Dr. Ron Halverson
Dr. Ron Halverson has been the President of the Halverson Group
since 1997. The Halverson Group specializes in helping leaders get
better organizational results through discovering improvement
opportunities, innovative thinking, and effective organizational
development. Ron holds both an MA and a Ph.D. in Industrial and
Organizational Psychology from DePaul University, with specialties in
research methodology and applied statistics.
Mr. Mike Monar
Mr. Mike Monar founded Monar Consulting in 1991. Utilizing a
team-oriented approach, Monar Consulting provides services such as
individual, team, and organizational assessment, leadership
development, human resource management, strategic planning, training,
and talent management for a wide range of clients using a . Mike
received his MS in Instructional Design, and Ed.S. in Organization
Development and Adult Education from Indiana University.
Moderator Bio:
Dr. Karen Slora
Dr. Karen Slora has worked with a variety of clients in the
development and implementation of performance assessment, personnel
selection, and survey systems. Her previous positions include Manager,
Assessment Systems at Personnel Research Associates, Inc. (now Valtera),
Senior Research Psychologist at SRA/London House (now Reid/London
House) and a contracted Human Factors Engineer with Advanced Resource
Development. She has also taught courses in I/O Psychology. Dr. Slora
earned her PhD in I/O Psychology from Bowling Green State University
(1985).

*Yearly membership fees for students are regularly $30. We have an
event membership special – $25 for annual student membership if you
join CIOP as a student member at this program. Membership can be
established during the half hour registration period prior to the
