Careers > Get Certified and Earn CE Hours - IPAT - Chicago

Finding suitable candidates for high-risk public safety positions has always been a critical function. But in today’s post-9/11 environment, the stakes are even higher: police departments are active in homeland security, the military is involved in peace keeping, university police are dealing with unprecedented violence, and private security agencies are working with the military to provide security around the world.

Therefore, IPAT is conducting two targeted courses in Chicago to assist you in dealing with the challenges you are facing – from qualifying prospects for recruitment, to selecting and placing qualified personnel and evaluating existing officers for promotional opportunities.

November 15
Personality Assessment Solutions for High-Risk Occupations

This one-day certification training course focuses on core public safety talent management strategies and concerns including:

  1. The Changing Roles of Police and Military Personnel in the 21st Century
  2. Personality Influences on Positions of Trust
  3. Clinical Testing to Ensure Fitness for Duty
  4. The Role of Normal and Clinical Personality Assessments in Supporting Personnel with PTSD
  5. Legal Challenges in the Selection, Placement, and Retention of Individuals in High-Risk Occupations

Upon successful completion of this course, including a final exam, attendees will earn 6 CE credits and designation as a Certified Talent Consultant, signifying mastery of the assessment applications presented in the course.

November 16 New Course!
Overview: Hilson Assessments for High-Risk Occupations

For over 25 years, Hilson assessments, including the renowned Inwald Personality Inventory, have been highly-respected names in public safety testing. Recently acquired by IPAT, these tests are now the key products in IPAT’s newly-formed Public Safety and Security Division.

This half-day course explores how the four assessments in the Hilson Public Safety Test Battery can be used to supplement your psychological interviews and universal personality tests to provide a complementary behavioral dimension to your hiring decisions.

Completion of this course provides 4 CE credits and a Certificate of Completion.

Psychologists will gain in-depth assessment insights not found in technical manuals, while program managers and other non-psychologists will achieve a better understanding of the assessment instruments used by psychologists, thus facilitating that working relationship.
